Messi was a constant thorn for Man Utd defenders, who struggled to contain his ability to roam forward. Messi, along with the rest of the Barca squad showed some fantastic skill, determination and energy against a tired looking Manchester team. A team that seemed to lack the basics, who couldn’t really string a few passes together.
Credit to Barcelona, who stuck to there tasks, after a tough opening 5 minutes, but Eto’o, calmed their nerves and slotted the ball home from the outside of his foot. It was so against the run of play, but it settled Barcelona and they continued from there.
