Lionel Messi Faces Two Game Lay Off

Confirmation from Barcelona have stated that Lionel Messi will miss the next two matches, due to sprained ligaments.
Leo was stretchered off following a strong tackle from Tomas Ujfalusi in the recent 2 – 1 victory over Athletico Madrid.
It is likely that Leo will return for the Champions League clash with Rubin Kazan, but he will be closely monitored in the short term.
A statement on the club’s official website reads: “The player has undergone an MRI this Monday morning at the Hospital of Barcelona. The tests confirmed that the player suffered a sprain to the lateral ligaments of the inner and outer right ankle and there are no associated lesions. The Argentine [will miss] the next two matches.
“Messi [will not be involved] in the game against Sporting Gijon on Wednesday at the Camp Nou, and the one that will be played next Saturday at San Mames against Athletic Bilbao.
“After these two matches, his availability to be back [at the disposal] of the coach will be evaluated on the improvement of the injury.”
