The Argentina and Barcelona sensation Lionel Messi has spoken about the prospect of Barca signing fellow international team mate Javier Mascherano from Liverpool.
According to goal.com an article in The Sun newspaper states that Barcelona have been in contact with Javiers agent about the move and a deal with £20mi could well be on the cards.
It will be difficult for Barcelona to sign him, but Javier has a better chance of winning trophies with Barcelona, both in the League and Champions League.
Messi commented:
“It will be beautiful if Barcelona signed Javier, as a player and as a friend,” The Sun quote Messi as saying.
“Not only to have him on the pitch but also off it as well. He’s a great player and would be a great signing.”
While Liverpool would be extremely reluctant to see one of their top stars leave, it has been rumoured that Mascherano’s family would like to move to Spain having failed to settle in England.

that would be amazing, it really would. It would be some force, not many teams would be able to stop them. Do you think anybody would? Where would you play Javier? Would he play every week?

I certainly agree with that, would you expect him to replace Iniesta then? Would probably replace him the game after a champions league game to guve Iniesta a rest.
It will be a great signing if it happens. It wouldn’t surprise me if more major european clubs are after him though.
I Think Barca needs a 2nd great central midfielder, if that one is Macherano i am not so sure.
His effort and work for his team i do not doubt, but if he is good enough playwise I’m not too sure.

We need Ribery, a striker (maybe Zlatan i have heard!!) and definetly a world class Defender!
